I am interested in the availability and price of PATCO labels. PATCO stands for "Palestive Air Transport Company". The labels were printed, in some cases cancelled and in a few cases used for postage in the early days after independence. Value of Patco labels are between $ 5.00 to $ 15.00 each..The better labels are with Inverted plane or overprint & Imperfs...The labels used as "fake" postage & was never authorized by the government for postage usage..In 1948 the Patco "inventor" Mendal Shapira..had some other tricks down his sleeve..like fake Haifa interim postmarks & fake overprint "Doar" (post) on stamps..Yes few cover pass in the mail system to the USA possible by a "friend" in the post office..Regardless it still collectible subject..in 1953 Mendel Shapira was in court got 3 years probation for his 1948 adventure..
