Value of Large Israeli Stamp Collection
Posted: Sunday, April 30, 2006 4:51 PM (UMST)

Hello, I recently came into possession of my grandfathers Israeli Stamp collection.  I have more than 1,000 stamps, yet I have no idea the worth of any of them.  Can anyone advise me as to how I can find information on stamp worth.  Please feel free to contact me through AIM or my email.  Look forward to learning more about my collection.

Thanks

Jordan

If you e-mail me with what area you live in I will guide you to the closest dealer specializing in Israel stamps.  I should make you aware that condition is a very important factor, with unhinged stamps with full bottom tabs worth much more than used or hinged stamps.  In addition, with few exceptions, most of the value in Israeli stamps are in the first 50 stamps (1948-1950).

Good luck

I saw your response from May 4th to someone asking for guidance on how to value their Israeli stamp collection.   I have the same question, including guidance on FDC's from the 1950's.   Do you have any suggestions on the nearest dealer to Austin, TX or a dealer in London?   Do FDC's attract a premium, or are they not widely followed?

Many thanks.
