2008 Endowment Fund Campaign

ABOUT US

The Society of Israel Philatelists was founded in New York City in 1948, shortly after Israel became a sovereign state. The SIP emerged as distinguished philatelists around the world eagerly collected the colorful and attractive postage stamps of the State of Israel. Whether collecting the earliest written communications or the unique stamps of Israel, something of the spirit of the Holyland is captured through studying Holyland philately.

OUR PURPOSE

We are privileged to share the history and art of Israel through philatelic materials. Interest arises for the historical, religious and Biblical themes of people long ago. Israel stamps are considered among the most attractive in the world and serve as a wonderful, easily understood educational tool for our younger generation. Stamp collecting is a heritage to be passed on to our children, and a way of preserving our history.

Growing our membership globally is a key to preserving our history for generations to come. The Society of Israel Philatelists (SIP) can be on the leading edge, with your help.

OUR CAMPAIGN

Interest in the history of the Holyland among people of all traditions is growing globally and we are growing along with it.

• Funding from the Endowment Campaign keeps our programs alive and growing.

• The opportunities to share our message, our history, our collections and to honor our collectors are enhanced by your financial support.

• The Israel Philatelist Journal benefits from Endowment funding by improving communications, technologies and Internet initiatives. The IP also provides:
o Education and expanded knowledge of Israel philately
o Examination of current trends in collecting and improvements in exhibiting
o More comprehensive information for convention, stamp show, local and regional meeting opportunities

Our web initiative will enhance communications, information and world-wide growth of the SIP.

The security of our financial future and continued growth is dependent on gifts to the Endowment Fund. This year’s goal is to expand our outreach and promote awareness and membership opportunities worldwide!

GIVE A GIFT

Every contribution you make counts toward the future of Israel stamp collecting. If you’ve experienced the joy of philately, give something back to the hobby that has given you so much pleasure. Contributions to the Endowment Fund make wonderful gifts for holidays, special occasions, memoriam and honorariums.

The Endowment Fund will also accept non-cash gifts of stamps, covers and valuable philatelic items (minimum value of $100, please). These items will be publicly auctioned with proceeds going directly to the Endowment Fund campaign.

As a contributor, your name will be published in the Israel Philatelist Journal. If you wish to remain anonymous, please check the appropriate box.

For more information, contact Mike Bass at 1-800-292-0550 or mbass@hy-ko.com.
